Registered Nurse(s) Services – Job Summary
Qualifications:
- Must be licensed by the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses with no prior or pending disciplinary action.
- West Virginia participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
Responsibilities:
- Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Psychiatric Nursing for acute psychiatric care assignments.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the relevant area for other assignments.
- Oversee and guide inexperienced RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
- Participate in Treatment Team Meetings to develop and implement Individualized Treatment Plans.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in patients’ Electronic Medical Records.
- Handle and oversee all medical-related emergencies.
- Communicate with physicians to meet patient care needs.
- Testify in court and commitment hearings when necessary.
- Respond to inquiries from family members, advocates, and other parties, adhering to confidentiality laws and HIPAA regulations.
- Provide services in line with the applicable standard of care.
